Our enormous efforts on behalf of our ambitious, fund raising CD "Rejoice and be Merry" have succeeded beyond our wildest dreams.
With the help of many outlets and volunteers throughout the county and further afield, we sold every one of our two thousand CDs, raising a sum in excess of €9,500 to donate to the vital work of the Friends of Naas Hospital. The Friends will use the funds to create a lasting legacy: a glorious healing garden which is taking shape in the site once occupied by a few wilting shrubs. The old courtyard is being converted to a feast for the senses and will be officially opened in March/April 2016.
The icing on the cake arrived on Christmas Eve. The judges of the prestigious RTE Lyric FM "Choirs for Christmas" competition paid us the greatest compliment we could have hoped for. Track 1 "Follow that star" took second place in the Community Choir section and Track 3 "Everywhere, Christmas Tonight" won the Primary School section.
Many congratulations to our special guests, the choir of Scoil Bhride and their teacher Ms Reen for their success.
I think we can safely call that an unbiased reflection of the quality of the CD, a quality that has led hundreds of satisfied purchasers to contact us to express their satisfaction.
I'll leave you with a quote from a happy fan of Nás na Rí Singers: "I can't wait for next Christmas, so I can start playing it again."
Happy New Year.
