Christmas Concert 15th December 2023

Our Christmas concert ‘Christmas Crackers – Festive Favourites Old & New’, took place on December 15th, 2023 at The Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballycane, Naas.
 
For those unfamiliar with The Nás na Rí Singers, we are a mixed-voice choir of nearly 70 members, based in Naas, Co. Kildare. Members are drawn not just from Naas, but from all over Kildare, Wicklow and Dublin. Among our members are singers who have been proudly singing with us from the very first day and singers who have been with us for just a few months. We are also delighted to welcome our new musical Director, Anthony (Tony) Norton.
 
In preparation for this winter concert, we embraced that holiday feeling and spent the first term preparing pieces to get into the Christmas spirit. The concert featured a range of popular Christmas Songs (old & new) including Silent Night, Follow That Star, In the Bleak Midwinter and O Holy Night to name a few.
 
The concert also featured very special guest performances from soprano, Sandra Oman and poet, Mae Leonard. We also welcomed the children’s choir from Scoil an Linbh Íosa Ballycane to perform both independently and alongside the Nás Na Rí Singers.
 
We are looking forward to next year's Christmas concert already.
