Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness....
Or, in Ireland, more accurately described as season of (more) rain and dankness. So what better way to brighten your days than to join the Nás na Rí Singers?
Nás na Rí Singers are once again open for auditions, making this the fifth year in a row that we have been able to hear, and hopefully accommodate, new singers in our choir. Like every other choir in Ireland, we're always on the look for more male voices, and we're lucky to have recruited several great new singers to our bass, baritone and tenor lines lately.
And the great news for the ladies is that, for every male voice we gain, we can afford to take on several new female voices! This year we have vacancies in both soprano and alto lines, due to our increased depth in the male lines!
So, if you have ever considered trying out for the Nás na Rí Singers, this might be a good year to give it a go. Auditions will take place on Thursday 8th September from 7-8pm in Scoil Bhríde, Sallins Road, Naas and on Friday 16th September (Culture Night) after our Culture Night event, an open rehearsal in St David's Church, Main St, Naas.
Auditions are nerve-wracking, but we know that. We've all done them You'll need to sing a short song that you know well and are comfortable with, then run through a few rhythm and listening exercises. If you can bring a copy of the music even better.
All are welcome to attend the open rehearsal, but if you'd like to audition on either night, please text Orla your details on 086-8073860 first to arrange an appointment. Looking forward to seeing you!
