The Church of Our Lady and St David, Sallins Road, Naas on Sunday 9th December saw the setting for our Christmas Concert, this year themed ”A Dickens of a Christmas” . The audience was treated to a programme of Victorian carols and excerpts from some of the world’s favourite Christmas stories, written by Charles Dickens, in celebration of the 200th Anniversary of his birth.

Dickens, played by Alistair Wallace, read from his novel “A Christmas Carol”, with the help of Scrooge played by Paul Sheehan, who brought the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future to life. “Sacred Sounds Quartet” played alongside our regular accompanist Majella Cahill on piano, and Anne-Marie O'Farrell on harp.

There was a full house and the church was beautifully decorated and lit in festive colours and candlelight.  The Nas na Ri Singers are donating funds from the concert to the St Vincent de Paul, Kerdiffstown House and Naas.
